Avon prop shaft

Had a trial fit of my Diff, prop shaft and gearbox.

With the gearbox pushed back as far as possible. How much length should I have left where the prop shaft goes into the gearbox? I guess there will be some free play?

Should be roughly 25 - 35mm of the shaft visable past the rear gearbox oil seal, from memory?

Cheers!

The standard way to spec a prop is to measure end of gearbox to the diff flange and also specify that an inch behind the nose is required. This means that 25mm of the shaft that goes into the gearbox (nose) is showing. Yours sounds spot on right.
