steering rack
is it only possible to use the mk1 or 2 escort steering rack what about a mk5 or mk 3 fiesta any ideas .my scrappys are all out of mk 1 and 2 escorts

The fiesta & Mk5 racks are fine as long as you dont mind the car turning left when you turn the wheel to the right!!
They are set behind the centreline of the axle and not ahead as in the Mk1 & 2 escorts. I got mine last week from my local factors for the rip off
price of £18.50+VAT, and they took a sierra rack back in exchange. (most of them will do this if you talk to the nicely or you pay the £20
surcharge)
The bit I am struggling with is the lower column which attaches to the rack pinion shaft!
