The V8 Vortex lives and breathes

After what seems like an eternity messing with the fuel injection system on the old Rover V8 I have finally got her to start, Tick over and rev up ! thank FUNK for that.

Two things I have just learnt

1, Rover Wiring diagrames are SH!T when is a relay not a relay ? ( even though the diagrame shows it as one ) its a Diode pack that acts as relay while starting and then starts doing all sorts of other things when the engine is running !!!!

2, Rover air mass metters need a vacume to tick over correctly !! .

So

hopefully exhaust finnished theis weekend

Left to do :-

a tidy up wireing due to having to pull my loom apartdue to the above

road test

set speedo

get the emmisions under control

spanner check

SVA

TTFN AGRIV8

Oh and the missus wants a pink crash helmet for Chritmas I am sure you can't get them !! any pointers on how to change a womans mind now that is a challenge

Thats great news mate.

Do you have any more (larger) pics of the car. Looks just how I envisaged mine with bulge etc.

Are they TSW stealths? Had the offer of a set dirt cheap only today and wasnt sure how theyd look.

Well done again, but I agree, the helmet problem could be tricky

Thanks,

Like the look of the luminous pink spray paint could spray my old Skid lid and buy myself a nice new one

Rich there is a larger picture side on in my archive will upload some more at the weekend know I have sussed Marc's digital camera. The wheels ars TSW dont know what type but are 16's and 8' deep so suit 205 rubber. They are heavy but I will keep for road use and get a lighter set for serious ruber.

RE video Rog can you host it if I can get some taken ? build pictures will have a dig about and see what I can sort out .

Looks absolutely stunning Ian, congrats mate.

Mine is going to look very similar cos I reckon the bonnet bulge suits the black incredibly well.

Im going for different alloys, but IMHO the black looks fantastic.

will see if i can find any on the computer, basically they bolt to the outside of the front top wishbone bracket, 19mm steel with light attached, creates a total exclusion zone for lights, shocks etc, same as dax one really ( thats where the idea came from )

best regards

marc

Shame, thought you might have left it as it was last Saturday, it sounded the bolox. I'll grant you it was a tad over 92db, but since when has that mattered?

Looks the dogs Iain!
