Zetec Engine number

Hi Folks

I have just spent the last couple of hours trying to make out the engine number on my 97 2.0l zetec. I think it is NGA UA 96236. Does this number make sense, it is just that my number is not what you would called stamped on, more like scribbled on.

Also as my engine is going to have to do the cat emissions test at sva do I have to prove engine number and age?

Thanks

Cheers Steve. Good to have a second opinion. As I don't have to prove my engine age i will just go what the number that i think it is.

VA is July 97. Ford don't do U. I would guess at VA 96286

it looks like WA to me; which makers it Nov 98., unless it is a funny V.
