I use GRAPE FE analysis software. Sample download is free but it will not model shell structures only beam and pin jointed structures.

Use is intuitive and processor demands minimal.

As with all these things results are not absolute only comparative

You can also get free introductory versions of many packages, for example you used to be able to get a 300 node version of PATRAN/NASTRAN which will be enough for any simple spaceframe analysis.

All my analysis, as posted on this forum, is done using Patran/Nastran.

Analysis Software - FEA

I'd highly recommend a finite element package called Cadre Lite for any FE analysis. It can be downloaded free and whilst it is limited to something like 1200 nodes that is more than enough for even the most fancy chassis design. It can also be output to CAD packages, which has proven handy for me so far as I find FE packages way easier to handle than most CAD!
