Tried to in contact with MK via mail...

Last week I sent a mail to MK using the mailadress "info@mk-sportscars.fsnet.co.uk".
No answer yet. Maybe E-mail is not the right way to reach them..

The questions are:

1. I will build my car with a bike engine (probably CBR 900 Fireblade) and would therefore have the car RHD fore weight distribution reasons. I think it will be a problem to find a RHD steering rack in Sweden. Could you supply the rack and to what cost?

2. What will the freight cost to Sweden? How will it be arranged?

3. How much do I pay at order and when do I pay the rest? At delivery?

4. Do you think I can use LHD hubs with a RHD steering rack?

5. What ratio do you recommend for the sierra diff when used with a Fireblade engine?

6. I was thinking to have it in white. Is the white version of fibreglass also gel-coat finish or do I have to paint it with white colour?

7. In the gallery at the internet site there are cars with a scoop on the bonnet. Is that an option?

Anyone here that can give it a try?

Thanks

/Fredrik

I will try and help on there behalf, phone is best btw.

1) Yes but not sure on cost, but lhd drive becs have been built with good weight distribution.

2) Not sure on cost but it as been done many times, I think they send it in a crate, either you arrange too have it picked up or they do it all.

3) Could be wrong but expect too pay a deposit and the rest on shipping.

4) charlie on here can answer that one, but lhd cars have been built.

5) Not sure but the answer will pop up on here I'm sure.

6) 99% sure you wont need too paint if you specify white.

7) Yes.

Hopefully that will get you on your way a little.

Answer to question No 5

3.38 or 3.62

3.62 is commonly used because it comes with LSD as standard on all XR4x4s other than the 2.0 litre version (3.92)

A big warm welcome to the madhouse

Forget RHD...

...and get one of these:

Made in the UK for a North American kit car company. Allows re-positioning of the output flange for favourable LHD weight distribution with BEC's. It also has a reverse gear incorporated.

If using a bike engine in a LHD car, dont you also have a problem with the steering link as the engine is in the way.

That little transfer box looks very cool, expensive?

Hi Fredrik

I´ll try to answer some of your questions. First of all I got a different e-mail address: info@mksportscars.co.uk if you wanna try that. But the best way is to call them.

2. Can´t give you a precise cost but I´ve heard around £400.

3. As I remember MK want £100 for a start. I paid £1000 first time then transfered the rest when they told me everything was ready. Did that with IBAN.

There are about 10-15 Indys here in sweden with different setup. And there is a few BEC with both RHD and LHD.
I you visit Locostsweden MK you can see one of them for sale. It´s a RHD Bec Indy that was on display at ELMIA 2 weeks ago.

We are a group of swedes that are flying over to the Stoneleigh Show this weekend. One of us is gonna make an order for a Indy on the show
