Paypal Payment
I am currently selling something (not car related) on eBay and got this question :
Hi there,
I havn't used Paypal before
but I have just set all the relevant
information up in PayPal. If I win, I will be
able to get the money to you by wednesday at
the earliest.....is this ok?? Would be sooner
but I need to wait for them to send the
verification payments.
Does this seem reasonable ?

Sounds about right for a new Paypal member, although I would look at his eBay feedback and judge if you want to rely on him from that.
Cheers,

Seems fair, but not worth worrying about till the end of auction.
Bidder may not win anyway.

Seems ok - I have had to get (Some time ago) proper verification for higher sums of money which took 2 weeks.
You could always ask for a cheque and wait until it clears...

I'd say yes and no, picking through the details of your post!
Did you stipulate Paypal only? else couldnt he send a cheque.
Is it for a large ammount, as else he does,nt need to wait for the verification payments, but it does make it sound good.
How does he know its Wednesday?
As said , what's his feedback like? What has he bought before, goods of a similar vein/value?
Above all, can you afford to lose it if it all goes tits up and you lose your goods and don't get paid, will it cause you hardship as well as
heartache, will you have to sell your house and live on beans on toast.
Treat it like a bet, if you can't afford to lose it don't risk it.

paypal is irritating in this respect, i set up an account with them and proceeded to use it ok, then when i go to pay for something paypal tells me my
spendin limit has been reached and i have to verify my bank account! so had to wait for them to put small amounts of money in my account and confirm
what they are. was really annoying as like to pay asap and had to inform the seller i couldn't pay with paypal for over a week! used a cheque in
the end for that sale.
this is prob what is happening to that buyer, so i guess he is above board, just make sure u have ur money before sending the item, the only issue is
if u can wait that long for a payment. at least he is telling you about it.
