Trackday tyres, are these suitable?
Not that the car's anywhere near being on a track yet, but would these be suitable for a Megablade?
http://cgi1.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?MakeTrack&item=320019615335
My only concern is the difference in weight between a FBMW/FR and my Megablade. Although I guess the downforce a single seater makes probably makes it
weight more than mine anyway so they'll stand up OK?
Thoughts/feedback about suitability/longevity appreciated.
Price seems to be very appealing

I would think they will be OK. Better than road tyres. The weight shouldn't be a problem as you say, they have downforce and greater cornering
force.
At that price they have to be worth a go. Shame they don't do 15".
edited cos I can't spal

Stuff like that is very popular nowadays - or so it seems. I'm quit tempted myself.
There are one or two issues (I'm told).
Some people frown on the use of slicks without a full cage and it almost stands to reason. Accident speed is quite possibly going to be a lot higher
and a roll is arguably much more likely to happen right on the limit. (Certainly in speed events, slicks demand the use of a proper, non decorative,
roll bar.
These being circuiy tyres might be tricky until they are properly warmed, but that probably isn't an issue if you're carefull.
Still very tempted myself...
Go for it

trackday organisers often specify that you need a roll cage for slicks.

Thought that (As I said, I know it's the rule at hillclimbs and sprints).
