jos, you'll know from previous experience that i've been having trouble driving this forum on my machine!!

well now i can see avatars from my work machine, but when i use the home computer i don't see the avatars. probably something in my settings somwhere, but does anyone know where i should look first? bit confused...

What browser are you using?

firefox 2.x menu tools->options->content
make sure 'load images automatically' is checked, if it is look in 'exceptions'

ie 6.x menu tools->internet options->advanced
scroll down to multimedia and make sure "show pictures" is enabled.

thanks guys. no idea what happened there, but i clicked on the link to jos' photo archive to see if i could see other photos and then clicked "back". the avatars have all appeared now!

i'm just using internet explorer v7.0 (only just updated a couple of days ago, but i had the problem before the update too).

iank - seems to have sorted itself out, but thanks for the advice!

think i spoke too soon! i clicked on jos' photo archive, then went back and the avatars all appear. then i posted the above note and when i went back to the forum, the avatars were gone. if i then click on my photo archive and go back, the avatars appear again.

stranger and stranger!

haven't been paying too much attention to avatars over the last couple of days though as i now have a 2 day old daughter (sorry for the thread hijack!!)
