Bargain
Been on the hunt for rear hubs for a while and I phoned a scrappie last week who said he had a 4x4, though not in his yard yet. Anyhow he said he
would remove the parts which surprised me, saved me faffing and rang him today and he says yeah its here I'll drop it at your house if you want,
for free! He gave me the hubs, calipers, discs (barely used), driveshafts, 7 3/4" (massive!) lsd diff and a perfectly good rear subframe
with handbrake cable and wishbones all intact. All for £80!! Couldn't believe it. What a bargain. Just gotta figure out how to remove the shafts
from the hubs or diff now, whichever. Seems my lucks taken a turn for a change.

Are you sure the diff is 7 3/4 inches, because the Sierra 4x4 diff is only 7"? If it is indeed 7 3/4 you might want to check the ratio for your
application.

Hope you don't have the diff brackets welded onto the chassis already, the upper mounting points are wider on the 7.5" Sierra diff.
However as said, on a 4x4 it should be a 7" diff, the 7.5" came on the 2WD Cosworth and some Granadas IIRC.

Ah, now I'm glad you mentioned this. I measured across the top mount twicw and this is 7 3/4 ". Wierd innit. I'm gonna go and check
it again now hang on....Brr weaters rubbish out there. Right Its actually 194/195mmn so it falls between 7.5" and 7.75". Summat to do with
eighths but I've had a bit too much to work it out. Its definitely LSD though and as I'm aware 4x4 only came in 3:38 ish and 3:64 with
LSD. Very interested in any feedback.

If the top mount is 7.5 inch, it aint from a Sierra 4x4. Not really a problem though unless like Mike say's, your diff mounts are already welded
to your chassis and provided it has the correct ratio.

Strange innit. The bloke said it was off a Sierra 4x4 and I've compared the subframe with another one on Ebay and they're the same. Might
try and sell the frame, someone must want one. I've not welded the brackets on yet so that shouldn't be a problem. Just gotta check that
they still fit the diff though and knowing my luck....

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

You might want to check the ratio before you go much further. What engine are you fitting cos the 7.5 inch diff is a fair bit heavier than the 7
inch?
Might also explain why the breaker offered to remove it and get it delivered to you.

Bugger! Just been cleaning it up now and the tag says 3.92 Wonder if I can make a new one out of the standard 3.62 push in diff I have and this
one. Gonna do a search now.
Oh yeah fitting a ZX9. I'd stick to my standard 3.62 but the hubs will only fit the the bolt on shafts and the calipers are there and all. Its a
pain really.

Personally, if you're going bike engine, I'd stick with the 3.62 diff and push in shafts. Much lighter setup and a far better ratio for
the ZX9R.

Thats what I'd like to do except me push in shafts won't fit the hubs. Is there anyway of putting the bolt on bits onto the other dif? Or
I suppose I could get some hubs without the bearing carrier off a drum model.
Out of interest the code on the tag is 88 GG JB 3.92. Anyone know what this is from then. I know its 3.92 and gather its non LSD cos one driveshat
turns the opposite to the other. However on my 7" 3.62 both shafts turn the same direction and I'm sure thats a non LSD too. Confused now!

Hi, 7" one bolt through the top mount, 7.5 two bolts either side, Lsd or not, Hold input shaft so it wont move, if its easy to turn output shaft
non Lsd, if it's imposible to move Lsd ok, regards Alan.
