Jag S type
Any Jag people about??
Me dad has got a s type jag v8 4 litre jobbie, put in the garage before xmas for a small miss fire between 1500 and 2000 revs so theyve changed the
plugs but told him they had to drop exhaust manifols to do this, Is this correct?????
It went back today as still has missfire, theyve told him auto box was low on oil and one off the rear wheels had gone faster than other  , and had
put a fault code in the ecu it has traction control so why would it come up as a fault

you have to remove the exhaust to change the plugs....eh
what an odd engine. And the missfires still there, do they know what their doing???
I have a friend with a new jag, he says his autobox is sealed for life. Don't know if I like the sound of this garage

As is normal when you go round a corner, did the bloke talk with a limp and only have one top lip?

Thanks for the answers, they are ment to be a jag/bentley/porshe etc etc dealer
When he told me thought it was very strange/funny it thought id ask as i dont have much to do with cars just plant and trucks

To me it sounds like a coil pack problem, usually changing the plugs can cure it for a short while, but it comes back and both the coil pack(s) and
the affected plug(s) must be change at the same time.
Cause of coil pack problems is at least partly due to the excessively long intervals between plug changes.
Might be worth while investing in a fault code reader the car should be EOBD compliant so decent fault code scannersr can be bought for less than 30
pounds off ebay.
Although they no longer have a dip stick most modern autoboxes aren't sealed for life they have an old fashioned level plug on the side.

Well its its got full service history (well how true that is) had no management lights up and the only fault they have read is the wheel over speed

When my company car was a Jag XJ I used to get it serviced etc at Surrey Jags in Croydon. They are Jaguar specialists. Fred knows his stuff (If he
hasnt retired by now). Miles cheaper that Jag dealer and better. I had a vibration at approx 120mph the main dealer never sorted it but he did in the
first service....Recommended
