I don't think there is any easy way to do it, just take your time , measure twice and alway cut less than you need, you can't put it back but you can cut more.

I did mine piece by piece until I was happy with the fit.

I masked mine up with masking tape, measured up the positioning of the exhaust. Marked up the bonnet so the cut out was slightly smaller than i needed cut that out, then cut it bit by bit till i was right. I cut it using my black and decker wizard and cutting disc.

Take your time and wear a mask...

It's the old Corn Flake box trick.

Clamp it to the chassis rail and hack away.

When your happy with the shape of the hole, use it as a template to mark the bonnet.

p.s. must be Kellogg's. You don't want any of that locost muck.

as 907 says.

i do it to make holes in the RC planes.

1. fit your exhaust without the bonnet.
2. use a card template, clamped/taped to the chassis side.
3. cut the hole in the card board allowing a little clearance.
4. slit the card to allow removal of the exhaust.
5. remove exhaust
6. fit bonnet
7. use the cardboard as a template to mark the bonnet.
8. cut with confidence.
9. replace bonnet and check against your template.

note: the card is never removed from the chassis at all, not untill you are completey happy.
