Upgrades from M16 calipers?

I have a set of M16 calipers which have been split, cleaned, painted, and I have bits to put them back together (inc new seals).

For a couple of reasons I'd like to replace them with something lighter and "better". One is that I'm not 100% confident about reusing the same bolts to put them back together, so I'd swap them for recon units anyway. The other is that since doing the initial work on them, I can afford to get nicer ones.

So any suggestions? I'm aware of a couple of wilwoods that rally design do. I've also seen the hispec stuff on fisher's site and heard of the outlaw M16 from the states (don't know if anyone sells them over here though).

Any recommendations anyone? These are to go on cortina uprights and fit under wheels of as yet to be specified diameter.. I have 15" sierra alloys at the moment but might look for some nice 14"s instead.

Thanks in advance.

Hi willwood every time.

The raceleda ones are just the outlaw ones rebranded.

And the hispec (Do reasearch on quality and service) are simalar to the wilwood but dont come with the customer service and backup you recive from RALLY DESIGHN (sole importer of willwood uk) Better of dealing direct rather than through GTS. All IMHO.

cheers matt

I mean, in terms of quality of product, not customer service/warranty?

Raceleda/Outlaw/Bremsport/WMS...

Pads are difficult/expensive (£50 for a set) to find. And only available in fancy variants.

No anti-vibration stainless inserts (some wilwoods have these).

Less popular than Wilwood, and hence fewer options on pads, and more blank looks when you mention them!

Manufacture of Outlaw is good
I have Bremsport, which I inherited with a bunch of bits. Not disappointed with them, but I would buy Wilwood if I were buying.

I have a few notes on the Outlaw calipers, on pads and stuff which is attached. A bit anorak, but potentially useful.

Thanks guys. So, powerlite 265mm solid kit sound about right?

Happy to shop with raldes, might contact them from work, see if I can blag a discount.. if we still deal with them..

I see from GTS's ebay feedback that there are still some delivery issues there

e-bay

Item number: 330093690252

may be worth a punt (includes pads)

Same as raceleda/bremsport/outlaw/etc./etc.

Actually I am tempted to set up my own brand of these!

Anyone know if the willwoods kit would pass an sva test ?? I know some people have failed the test due to having bought some aftermarket kits that don't have the correct pad retension requirements, but don't know which kit it was
