Swirl Pot

Am I right in thinking that flow is into the pot through the lower pipe & out through the higher?
Any considerations to take into account when mounting to ensure it functions correctly? (It's in cooling system).

I thought that the use for a swirl pot is to seperate possible air from the water. If so, the logical connection would be to for the water/air mix to enter though the higer big opening, for the water to leave through the lower outlet and for the air to go out via the connection at the highest -point (connected to the de-air ciruit).

Makes sense?

On the pot I've got the bigger pipe (32mm) is at the bottom & the smaller pipe (25mm) is higher up. I would have thought the bigger pipe was for the inlet & the smaller the outlet? So which way around is it?.

I thought it was the other way round!

And that's what the guy made when I asked for a swirl pot for 25mm outlets on the engine and 32 mm inlet on the rad.

Ah I've got it now. Pot goes in the return line from engine to rad. I was thinking you plumbed it into the supply.
