Shipping Containers
We are thinking of using shipping containers for viewing stands, toilets and ticket offices at our club track.
Anyone any reccomendations who to buy from or handy hints about converting shipping containers?

I know there about £6.50 a week to hire and you get a quality container maybe an alternative to buying

They use containers at Camberly kart club as the land is leased and they're not allowed to build any permanent buildings.
Might be some pics on their website.
One is used for storage, another for timing (near start finish line) and another for signing on/posting results/grids.
They have had windows put in with large hinged steel covers that are fully locked up when not in use to prevent vandals/theft/damage etc.
Ned.
beware, I've got yellow skin

Watch for condensation in them if your storing anything paper based or tools suseptable to rusting.

Try Sherwood Portable Accomodation here and speak to John Williams.
They do conversions and other types of secure buildings etc.

if you only want a basic old one try to buy an old stock item from a local hire company and a lick of paint. we have previously brought from
ravenstock http://www.ravenstockmsg.co.uk/index.htm
another company who specialise in conversions are http://specialcontainers.com/
its also possible to paint the containers intenally with special coating to reduce the condensation problem.
in a locost way a oxy/acet torch and a welder should do the job!
