Brake & Clutch Master Cylinder Advice please

I am going to ditch the MK2 escort pedal box as I now need a hydrolic clutch for the RX7 gearbox.

I will be going for something like an OPD unit. I wondered what M/C fits their pedals and what size will i need.

My Front brakes are HiSpec 4 pots and the rears are 2wd cossie callipers.

Also, how far do they stick out from the end wall of the foot tunnel into the engine bay?, my turbo is going somewhere near there and i need to decide which system i'm going for, floor or top mount.

any help appreciated

I have had a search and althouh there is lots of info, i cant find what the cylinders come from.

Girling master cylinders will be your best bet.

They will stick out about 105mm from the bulkhead.

As for sizes, that will depend on the caliper piston sizes and disc diameters front and rear.

I do have a spreadsheet that gives a rough idea of whats happening. If you want it u2u your email or search my past posts as its been attached before.

I assume you are going for rotary power also then (you mentioned rx7 box). Good stuff, which one you using?

All the best.

Yes, i am using a Turbo II 2nd generation engine and box, The rebuild thread is here:
http://www.clubstylus.be/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=464

They give virtualy the same power as the newer twin turbo rx7 but parts are a lot cheaper to get hold of.

My last turbo II had 460 fwhp on the dyno although i'm only looking for about 300 - 350 max with a smaller turbo for less lag.

If you could send the diagram i would be greatful, my email address is antnicuk@msn.com.

I'm not sure of piston size but the cossie rear callipers are a fairly common. The front discs are 285mm, i'm not sure about the rears yet, I am converting an Atlas axle to discs.

regards
Tony

You might be able to fit the Mk1 escort pedal box from rally design. Available for cable or hydraulic clutch. Rally Design
Raldes may supply without the brake cylinders to give a cheaper option and it must be kinder to the master-cylinders not to cook them in the glow from the turbo.
