Fitted new Prop today - bit of a pig
In order to know how long the prop needed to be, i had to fit the gearbox and diff.
once i had a measurement i called AutoProp on thursday and ordered my prop - it was a really fast turn around as i picked it up on saturday afternoon.
140 notes + vat is good value too.
so todya i tried to fit it, and its a horrible job in a car thats so open!
first i had to unbolt the bottom lower rear wishbones at the chassis - this is so i could draw out the long bottom DIFF bolt.
Once the bolt was out i then undid the top bolt and using a jack - dropped the diff down and backwards. luckily there was just enough space to slide
the main part of the prop down the tunnel - only just mind!!!
i then took the front section and bolted it up ( its eash when you have not fitted the internal panels yet ) to the gearbox, then as i fed the prop
down the tunnel, i connected the two together at the sliding joint.
job done :-)

if anyone is interested, or for future reference, the gearbox is fitted in the standard place on the chassis, using the welded bracket. the distance
between the 3 pronged output and the diff flange is 88.4cm.

Looks ok though.
When i fitted mine, i managed to slide the prop down the tunnel from the engine end, thus leaving the diff inplace, mind this was on a MK chassis.

Took the engine and box out from mine, quicker than taking the diff out of the way only 3 nuts at the time.

Brad thats a proper engine car not a buzzzzzz box
