Buying MegaJolt kit - US or UK??

Ok guys - i have consulted the owner of the Supercat i am building and we are gonna go for the MegaJolt. Question is should we buy direct from AutoSportLabs in the US or is there a recommended UK supplier for the complete kit??

Looks cheap from the US with the exchange rate being as it is but the possible VAT, handling fee and import duty might bump it up.

So any recommendations???

I bought mine from Bill Shurvington as a kit, he is based in this country and I got it for £45 in 2 days. The componants I managed to get from Maplins for £3.70 and it took about 1 hour to build. It works a treat. I am in Wrexham if you want any further details.

Regards

Bob

I got mine direct from Autosportlabs in the states. They now do postage to the UK for £10!! (you may have to ask) and package it in a way that it doesn't draw attention to itself from the VAT man.

Quick delivery and fantastic service.

The way I look at this sort of question is it is usually cheaper to get kits from the states, but dont forget who will fix it or give you the help, or indeed has put countless hours into the project that someone else then gets payed just to supply. I dont sell the megajolt kits so Im not complaining, but just to save a few quid is it worth it?
Surely we need to keep these projects being developed, beleive me, without Bill I wouldnt have been able to add all I put into the Extra code, surely thats worth keeping him interested in MS by purchasing through him rather than someone who has put nothing into it? Without Bill, James and myself the MS would not be where it is today and you would still have to consider emerald, etc, etc. Just my 2p worth,
Phil
