BEC conversion
Hi guys. I'm just starting a conversion on an MK from pinto to 'blade engine.
I'm gonna have a lots of questions but first I'm thinking of fuel. Do I need to buy a 'blade fuel pump? If so - is it best mounted
at the back by the tank or up front in the engine bay?
Thanks in advance for the help!
All views greatly recieved!

Hi Richard,
Small world... hows the conversion going?
Didn't think of this the other evning but, you could fit a swirl pot fed by another fuel pump to give you a resovoir up front that the blade
pump feeds from, not sure if the blade pump is up to getting the fuel from the back of the car to the front but im sure someone on here will
know....

Hi and welcome.
My Blade pump, and many others are situated by the tank at the back, no problems at all.
So yes get a Blade, or similar pump, to match your engine. There are more problems caused by using a car pump and a regulator than cures.

Carbs or injection ?
I have CBR600 carbs on my car, pump is the original Honda part fitted next to the tank, it pushes fuel the length of the car no problems

On our 'blade engined "Hellfire I" we had an externally mounted (On original rubber strap) at the side of the tank. Included a small
filter about 12" before going to carbs and all was fine...

PS Have a look at our original build (not the rebuild - as that is ZX12R) on the website, it may help you lots.

Thanks to you all for your help!
It's a 900cc blade engine with carbs so I'll get a blade pump & mount it at the back.
Thanks again.
Thanks Steve for the ebay link - I'll check it out.
