well blow me...

... i actually worked!!!

been struggling to undo a nut on an alternator so a couple month back bought from Aldi windy gun. Fitted quick release airl ine fittings and gave is a whizz.

lo and behold, after a couple of attempts and upping the pressure to 90 psi the nut came undone.

The QR fittings are brill - no more messing about with a spanner, just hope the reduced internal diameter doesn't affect air flow too much.

Indidentally anyone with these air tools ~(Aldi) fitting QR connectors from MMart will find the non MM brand fittings are hardened steel and so it the fitting on the tools - use a bit of sealant on the threads to make airt tight seal as it is not possbile to get them to seal.

the Aldi tools come with softer brass (softer metal) connectors but these are some Euro size and n ot compatible with the MM (UK?) flavour.

plumbers ptfe tape is the best thing to use i think for sealing the air line.

i always use the ones made by PCL (i think) they're more standard i think. that way i could buy them anywhere rather than having to go to machine mart, but either way, i wouldn't be without the snap fittings for anything

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!
