No wonder the price of metals gone up. Look at all that wastage.
Get yourself to one of them Chinese fellas on the streets that can bend your name out of wire. You'll never know the difference

My ex attended a course on medical equipment and they had a magic machine that would do a 3D scan of a component and then magically replicate it out of whatever material you wanted! They made a copy of a human skull out of titanium......

If you want to see something amazing, look up stereolythography machines

Being able to grow complex shapes out of a gooey liquid is quite impressive....

The one I saw being done was a chess piece, normal size castle with a spiral staircase inside compelte with opening windows.....all done in one session....Mental!

I think I saw one of those at a University once. Fires a laser into the liquid that makes it set in a specific place? They were making the components for mock up single cylinder engines as a demo - amazing!!

Yup thats the stuff!

The really expensive ones with very accurate lasers are able to create "pixels" of only a few microns...

You can even create sliding assemblies in one go...

Very impressive but very wastefull.

I'm sure Aldi will be knocking out a similar machine for around £50 soon.
