Hydraulic brake light switch

Apparently I have one of these and have absolutely no idea what to do with it. Can anyone help?

It has one end that looks like a cablevision coaxial cable male end, and some terminals on the other.

You need a 4 way adapter in the front brake circuit.

Put it in the rear circuit and mount is so that the electrical connections point downward. If they point upward you will get air trapped in the switch and that sir will be a royal PITA!!!!!!!!!

As mentioned above, use a four way adapter

If its broke, fix it. If it aint broke, take it apart and find out how it works!

Rear circuit has less pressure so switch can be less reliable/slower.

Can I buy another electric switch so I don't need to get a 4 way adaptor? What is this and what is the exact thing I need if I keep the same system?

You can get a switch that attaches to the pedal depending on your pedal box.

A four way adaptor looks like this:

You can get metric or imperial so make sure you know the thread on your switch before ordering.

May I ask why a 4 way adaptor and not a 3 way? I guess one for the switch, one to go to the master cyl and the other for the front brake line. That's only three.

Why 4-way ?

At some point in your system you will want to split the feed to the left and right brakes. This is often a convenient point to insert the brake light switch so you have feed from M/C, brake L and brake R plus the brake light switch.

On the other hand I, for example, have put the switch on the engine bulkhead where the feed goes to the rear so I have a 3-way. There is no hard and fast rule.
