South African Dicktator
Yes, I can spell.
But this caught my eye on e-bay. A stand alone ECU from SA.
Anyone know of this system? Anyone used it? Any comments?
Seems rather cheap to me, perhaps too cheap?

They look quite good, probably very similar to the megasquirt by the looks of it.
The software manual is quite interesting and well written.

This is very interesting stuff, especially the gearbox controller. There are plenty of donor engines/gearbox packages that normally can't be
considered due to only having electronic auto gearboxes that are controlled by the original ecu, which can't be used due to issues of
immobilisers and abs etc.
For instance. Lexus LS400 only comes with auto box, but using those units, one for ecu and one for gearbox could produce a very nice power unit
package at a very good price.
Interesting

The Dicktator is a well established brand in SA with many staunch supporters - I personally have no experience of them but they have been on the
market for some 10 years now to the best of my recollection, and anything that survives that long in the market place of a small car crazy country
like ours where word of mouth is crucial to success can't be all bad.

Price is down to the exchange rate
160.00 GBP=2,806.65 ZAR
The whole operation looks like I would expect a local South African business to looklike poor website but good product driven by a local need.
Ecus are very very expensive in SA and can write a car off if they blow. Looking at the range Subaru and toyota ect tells be thats very south
african.
I could possibly get my dad to go and see them in a few weeks
The product looks localy made looking at the case ect.
cheers
