Thermostat housing

Just got the new thermostat housing finished and painted It is made from 8mm steel plate faced on both sides down to 7mm with hole bored into it and the stat housin is silver soldered in and the pipe cut and welded on. This will bolt onto the rear of the head where I removed the core plug. Can someone show me how to show the photos on this posting?? they are in my photos list, Thanks.

Why steel?
Won't it rust ?
Using aluminium and getting it anodized after, would be better. At the very least, get yours zinc plated if you want it to last.

It wont rust anymore than the engine block which is iron and the impeller in the water pump, there will be anti-freeze with its anti-corrosion properties? and whilst the aluminium anodized one looks fab its not lo-cost is it?

The big difference is that your block is cast steel not mild steel. Cast iron resists rusting longer.
Just some advice to help you save yourself some grief. Up to you if you take it.........
