Chassis bracing options

Hi all

Advice needed.

I would like to put a 4 into 1 manifold on my pinto but want it to come out of the lower side panel not the bonnet.
The only routing I can work out will foul the side panel diagonal brace.

Could I remove this and brace another way?

Ideas please.

Thanks

Steve

Mine comes out of the side panel, albeit the opposite side. It was made to miss this chassis brace and comes out 2 inches rearward of the chassis brace. May be easier to make the exhaust fit the chassis rather than the chassis fit the exhaust.

Turn the single diagonal into a Y to make the space you need, you are after making triangles within the rectangular area.

Yeah that's what I figured. Triangles give structure.

Would you advise doing both sides to to maintain balance?

Of any interestuse? I wouldn't worry overly about trying to keep both sides balanced if you go the Y-brace route - stick with the diagonal on the other side.

Put the engine in the back so the exhaust can exit without needing any mods to the chassis..

And, you can extend your roll cage down to the suspension to stiffen everything up!
