So how do I get these welded in the correct positions?
I'm doing Ron's book (2nd ed) and am puzzled.
How do I get them accurately aligned so when I put my brackets on they will be straight?
Looking at the pictures in the book, the top of the tubes seems to be slightly away from the outer edge of the top, but there are so many different permutations I can't be sure.
Any-one have close up photos to show how yours are, and even better how you worked out how do get them there accurately?

I'd suggest that you leave them out until you are ready to fit the suspension brackets, at which point you can fit the tubes to suit.

I didn't do this, took the book at face value, and had to grind the originals out and start again.

Someone on here has a jig for the brackets that's easy to make - they used MDF I think - and you can set everything up accurately. Hopefully someone will follow me with a reference for that jig...
