Help with busa adjustable fpr

I'm in the process of fitting a fse adjustable fpr to my hayabusa powered mk.

Thing is I'm not 100% sure where to fit it in the fuel system??

The engine is circa 1999 with an external fuel pump mounted up near the fuel rail and also has a return to tank.

Do I fit it between the fuel pump and injector rail or can it go in the return line to tank??

The FPR goes after the fuel injection rail and returns to tank if not using a swirl pot, you should have an FPR already in place, it replaces this although this will probably have a dedicated fitting, stud with 'O' ring and a couple of bolts all combined into the FPR so you will need to make an adaptor.

You also need a high pressure filter between the HP fuel pump and the injectors.

So between the rail and pump??

Yes the stock fpr is still mounted on the pump.

So I need to remove the stock fpr, make an adapter to go in to adjustable fpr then the outlet from the fpr should 't' in to the return line back to tank? If that makes sense.

The FPR regulates the pressure in the rail, some bikes have it associated with the pump, so yes swap out with the existing one.

While you are modifying the original pump you might also want to install an external filter.
I assume the gsxr1300 pumps are similar to the in tank gsxr1000 ones, in that they have an integrated filter.

Adding an external filter allows you to replace it when you are servicing and avoids a potential problem with the intank filters.

Mark, yes the pump and fpr is one unit.

Matt_gsxr, I'm unsure about similarities between 1300 and 1000 pumps. I will also look into an additional filter.

just removed to original fpr thats attached to the fuel pump. Looks like a a load of hassle modifying the pump to take an aftermarket fse fpr. Think it might be easier to find a pair system and install that to help with emmisions.
