do they remove body parts

HI can any tell me do they remove the nosecone or any other parts of body also the nut covers as to get my nosecone off i have to turn the lights to the side and they will need resetting also the nut covers are a bit slack so i put a blob of silicone in them to keep them on

He didn't remove the nosecone on my IVA test. My understanding is they might ask you take off "removable" panels but he didn't even ask me to remove the boot cover and just inspected everything from underneath.

Not usually, no. If you're worried though, take lots of photos of the inaccessible places on the car just in case.

As above......especially seat belt mounting points and welds if hidden behind panels. I had to show photos of those in the tunnel.

For what purpose, did you have sufficient documentation to show it and they still wanted to see it?

I hope not as carpets all stuck down with spray glue and my fuel filler it in top of boot box

I had stuck some of my nut caps on with silicone, I just explained that I couldn’t get them all the right size

It takes ~45 minutes to do a basic MOT. The IVA tests a hell of a lot more in more detail (just check out the what, 400(?) page manual). They don't just rock the lights up to a device that shows the beam pattern, they measure their positions relative to other parts, the check mirrors give visibility they should, they need to check metal is thick enough in places etc. The MOT is a quick jog over the bare essentials, the IVA is a marathon to prove that what you've created isn't going to kill someone in normal use or in a crash. And £100 per hour for a highly skilled tester to check you're not going to kill someone once before it gets on the road is fairly good deal to my mind
