MGB built Locosts have been built in the very early days there was a guy from the US used the complete drive train and front suspension. ISTR the builder (Ken Walton) sadly died but pictures of his build should still be in the Yahoo group archives
The Salsbury axle fitted to all except the very Bs is very strong but narrow ISTR the wire wheel axle is narrower than steel wheel type.

To access the photos you will need to sign up to yahoo groups the join the group, I had a quick look although the group is dead in the water there are still lots of pictures and good info.

I still miss Ken - one of the more 'unconventional' people I've had the pleasure of meeting but a top bloke with it!

Do you mean just the diff or the entire axle? The diff by itself wouldn't be much use unless it drops into a different axle.
