Stuck S2000 suspension sleeve

Daughter's boyfriend is redoing the bushes on his S2000 and has hit a snag.

I've been in the garage with him and it's bizarre. The sleeve will rotate in place. It is obviously at an angle so we tried tensioning it
with a crowbar underneath and then smacking it sideways 'more vertical' and it didn't budge a mm. Trying to avoid cutting through it
and the nice shiny new bush if at all possible. Have you ever seen something like this?

The bolt that goes through and the nut. The top of the sleeve should sit inside the nut so it is non-circular.

Difficult to say for sure (and it's an unusual setup) but... Id duspect the damage described in the video, at the top, stopping the top adjuster
cam/nut fitting onto it also stopping the adjuster bush coming through the wishbone bush?

The wishbone bush might be slotted so the adjustment only moves it in one direction. If so, knocking the adjuster bush back up and turning it, you
might find a position it will come out... maybe?

To me that looks like the top of the sleeve has popped out of it's place and needs to go back in the slot, with the bush length and the gap in
the front subframe being the same it would only need a slight angle on the sleeve to jam things up. But it sounds like you've already tried what
I would go for (crowbar to force it back and preloading the suspension).
The only thing I can think of is 'more of the same'. What I mean by that is remove the shock/strut and try and lift the wishbone beyond
it's normal resting point, basically as far up as it can go. Then use the crowbar to 'open up' the subframe slot just a little bit?
Hopefully that will end with a loud bang as the sleeve pops back into a happier place.

I suspect the tube is damaged or bent (it looks misaligned in one of the photos but i thought it was just an optical illusion). First I'd remove
the bottom ball joint from the leg so you can get the wishbone/bush to a more relaxed/square position. Then try a put bar under the adjuster tube head
and turn it at the same time as levering it down. Copious amounts of lube might help and elec/air gun to spin it. Keeping the pry bar in place will be
awkward.
Slimy38, AIUI from the video in the first post the adjuster tube fitting that engages in the top eccentric washer/nut is damaged and won't fit in
so the tube has to come out..

I applied a bit of violence to it this afternoon but obviously not enough. I'm going to completely remove the strut so the lower arm is only
held in at that bush and has a full range of articulation.

OK, a bit delayed but I got the strut off, wiggled things and got the sleeve end where I could see it

There is a definite lip on the end. I'm going to use a multitool thing in there to try and cut/grind it off. No room for an angle grinder. The
sleeve rotates freely so I think it is only this preventing it from being pulled out
