Locost for sale.
big_wasa - 13/5/13 at 04:54 PM

I've not come to the decision lightly but the time has come to move on.

The enjoyment has always been the making of and fiddling with and never will be the driving of. The lack of time and reluctance to spend money on iva is the clincher that ive been putting of for years.

The car,

Chassis is home made by me to the book with the front wish bones 4" wider than stock to match the atlas rear axle.

2.0 Zetec rebuilt pre aug 95 with letter from ford.
fuel injected
Scholar sump
Scholar lightened flywheel
Dunnel alternator kit
Mt75 gearbox
Fisher stainless exhaust manifold
Capri atlas axle
Cortina fronts
Gaz shocks
D&F prop
Cai dials
Obp pedal box
Obp fuel tank
Obp catch tank
Mk2 escort steering rack Quick ratio 2.9:1
Sierra column
Momo 10" caterham steering wheel
Gts fiberglass
Descent 15" alloys pug offset
The list goes on.

Now I don't expect it to sell as a car with out an iva but I thought I would give it a try before I break it.

The bottom line is £2300 as it will break for over £3k but then I will end up paying ebay/paypal 10% and have all the hassle of posting a car piece by piece.

Warren mate thats a drastic step especially for such a well built car, you would breeze IVA cant you find another way?

I know how you feel, and have had to let cars go in the past due to finances! BUT; i think if you can find the £500 ish for the IVA and pass, your car will be worth more than double the listed price. i will lend you the money if you like,to get it through, and you can give it back once its sold

big_wasa - 13/5/13 at 07:41 PM

Its not the cash of the iva but the time and messing about taking it and the extras of putting it on the road.

I only have five days holiday left that are not booked to last me until next May.

When it passes I would sell it so I can start something new.

I've built it, I've had a go. time to do something elts.

daniel mason - 13/5/13 at 07:46 PM

i do understand, but id be seriously consider a day off work if it will save you £2,500 in the long run. surely £4500 is not unrealistic for a car as nice as that?

May be someone would be able to take it to IVA for you, seems a shame to sell such a nice looking car without an IVA test and lose so much money IMHO

WOW b_w, never expected that!
I've probably spent more that that and haven't got to a rolling chassis yet.
Beautiful build, it's got to be the bargain of all time for £2.5K.

Ive had good value for money making it and would like to see some one enjoy it. Ive been watching the market for a bit and a car so near to being on the road but yet so far is never an easy sale.

The feed back ive had is "if its not iva'd how do I know how well its built" and its a very valid point.

Very sad and very excited to say that ive taken a deposit

Sad as its been a big part of my life and very excited as it would give me a real buz to know a car I have created will be out there being used as intended. track and road.

To the next chapter.
