I have seen some posts on here about different immobilisers people have used, i decide to buy the following one:-

Looking the wiring diagram it says the yellow wire has to be connected to door pin switch, obviously we don't have these !!!! Just wondered what people have connected these to??

Separate switches or something else??

I have the ordinary Sterling with the "touch key" rather than transponder. I cant remember what the wire colours were but there definately wasn't one connected to a door pin!

I would imagine you would just tape it up and forget about it unless it says otherwise.

So i understand it has to momentarily see earth so it activates the transponder. I could fit a separate switch but would like to wire it in to something already there if possible.

Yes, spoke to him, he suggested a seperate switch or connecting it to the horn, so you have to press the horn every time you want to start the car. I just wondered what other people have done

Sounds like a small push button switch tucked away somewhere would be best. Conecting to the horn seems a bit daft.

Handbrake switch?

You don't need to connect it.
I have the same and it works without any connection.
There is a timer built in which sets the immobiliser. It is delayed by the door being opened after the ignition off.

I will try it disconnected then.... i was hoping that is the case.

If not the handbrake would work, would just require the handbrake to be release then put back on again to see a momentary earth??

Looks the same as my immobiliser. I agree the yellow wire is not needed. When you turn the ignition on it activates the transponder so i can read the key, when you turn the ignition off the immobiliser arms in 30 second I believe it is.

I have the same one and it is disconnected and works fine.
