Sierra Indicator Stalk Replacement
Paul27 - 11/11/20 at 09:03 AM

Hi,

I have a faulty indicator stalk on my Fisher Fury and I am having difficulty in sourcing a replacement.

The stalk is from a Sierra and has integral hazard warning switch so ideally I would like a direct replacement but they are difficult to get hold of. Can anybody suggest an easily sourced alternative that would fit the existing column?

Many thanks

Paul

Be careful. Check whether it is a mk1 stalk (square hazard switch) or mk2 (round). The mk1 switches things directly, while the mk2 is designed for intervening relays and pin-outs/switching are different (IIRC). Oh and the mk1 has the horn push, while the mk2 doesn't (again IIRC).

Thanks, I will make a note of that, definitely the Mk1 that is required

There is a Sierra breakers up in the North East - Sierras R US i think? Might be worth trying them, I would have thought Mk1 parts will be rarer.

Thanks I will give them a try, the MK1 is indeed rare and going for silly money on e bay!

I have a Mk2 one I think, it has round hazard button but no horn. Don't know if you can convert it. Same fitting etc

Hi thanks, ideally the MK1 which would be a direct replacement.

If I cannot source one either will either have to use a mk2 or fit a separate hazard warning flasher switch and relay because the flasher unit on the Mk1 that is fitted does not work. Both mods would require dash removal and wiring mods so I will continue to look for a Mk1 for the time being.

Many thanks

Paul

I have one or two Sierra indicators , I will check to see if I have any mk1 types over the next few days. Have you tried giving you switch a squirt of WD40 ?

Thanks, yes tried WD40 and contact cleaner.
