Looks good to me!

Not sure if its baclit or not though, I would think that it is.

Fitted one to mine. Everything seems to work OK although it hasn't been out on the road yet. Looks the part. Rescued attachment DSCF9713.JPG

I will take an updated picture showing it backlit in blue.

flak monkey - 9/1/06 at 01:43 PM

Just read it properly and it does indeed say its backlit in blue... (should read things properly the first time really!)

The only other question I have is did it come with English instructions? As they are german units and on their website it only mentions German instrcutions...

Cheers,
David

Like everything today the instructions are in English but are not comprehensive. I think they may have lost a little in the translation!

I can point you in the right direction though if you get unstuck.

I've seen the Banditmania one on a bike and it is backlit. It looks good and at that price with those fearures it can't be bad.

I found this as another item available from the same seller:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8027108148&ssPageName=MERC_VI_ReBay_Pr4_PcY_BIN_Stores_IT#ebayphotohosting

More expensive, obviously, but it looks like it includes all the warning lights as well as the main functions. Designed to be surface mounted using a bracket, but I guess it could be mounted flush with a dash with a little ingenuity.

that second item has two different clocks in the pictures. the first one (showing blue backlight) appears to have the backlit symbols whereas the other photos have lights underneath the symbols.

In the first unit it states in the specification ,Fuel Sensor Resistance;-100 ohms. Does this mean it has the capability to read the fuel level, and how would i find out if a fuel sender had 100 ohms resistance?
Thanks Nige

flak monkey - 9/1/06 at 09:23 PM

I dont think its got a fuel sensor on it. If you look on the acewell website (www.acewell.de) and can read german (or use babelfish) its the 3150 that has a fuel level gauge on it. The unit on the ad is the 3100.

I was hoping it would have a fuel gauge, but I was thinking it hasnt before I bid, so its not an issue if it hasnt.

I am hoping mine will turn up soon, then maybe i can answer the question for definate.

Actually heres the whole manual for the 3xxx series:

http://www.acewell.de/uploads/media/ACE-37-38XX-EN-V4_manual_02.pdf

It says that fuel gauge is optional. Like I said I will let you know once its arrived...

Mine has the fuel level gauge which works fine with my sender from MNR. My warning lights are backlit.

Try this....they have responded to my questions......connect up a V8 to the tachometer

Arrived today. Can confirm that there is no fuel level gauge on it. Who needs one anyway?
