I hate it...

Me too!

MikeCapon - 16/12/09 at 12:30 PM

Yip. That's horrid alright. Who's going to be the first to say they like it?

whitestu - 16/12/09 at 12:34 PM

I think all new 'Minis' should be crushed - can't stand them.

balidey - 16/12/09 at 12:35 PM

Actually, its not bad. Not going to say I love it, but its got an appeal to me

r1_manx - 16/12/09 at 12:41 PM

I love classic Mini's, except for the Moke....awful looking thing in it's day and this new design doesn't look great either.

Mr Whippy - 16/12/09 at 12:44 PM

Do you think they’ve ever seen a real one? Cos that looks like a jacked up new mini with the doors missing, rather pathetic really

David Jenkins - 16/12/09 at 12:55 PM

If you read the last bit of the story, it's unlikely that the production car (if there ever is one) will have open sides, due to safety issues. It'll end up looking like a dwarf 4x4 off-roader.

Hands up all those who think that this is designed for the US market...

MK9R - 16/12/09 at 01:06 PM

stop it, stop it, its hurting my eyes!!! Horrid thing!!

lotusmadandy - 16/12/09 at 01:24 PM

Worst thing is,that it would probably
sell very well.
It would be interesting to see the price
tag on that, considering how much a mini
costs.
I still dont like it though.
Andy

Me! Americans do seem to like the mini though because it is "tiny".

Madinventions - 16/12/09 at 01:38 PM

nasty....

RK - 16/12/09 at 01:45 PM

I don't know why, but there is a perception that it is better to be higher than all the other traffic, as it makes for better accident protection. It isn't always true, but this is what people like my brother always say - and he works for a bank, and is extremely conservative. So, he thinks like most people, in other words.

The car makers are taking advantage of this, and of course you see everyone with an SUV, just to go shopping in - and I don't mean in a place with regular snow either!

hampshe - 16/12/09 at 01:48 PM

Top 2 look like someone nicked the doors

trextr7monkey - 16/12/09 at 01:58 PM

Nothing like the original Moke and Scamp derivatives, doubt if it will attract the sanme cult following, looks a bit like the Jap terios /rav 4 sort of thing, too sophisticated by far
AAAAH I feek better for that

I liked these first two quotes

Oh, dear.

'Moke-inspired' or 'joke-inspired'...?

That is truly, truly vile. Stop it, MINI.

Jasper - 16/12/09 at 04:25 PM

That is truly awful, like most new Mini designs ....

Bought myself a Tahiti Blue 2000 reg Cooper Sport yesterday, now that is one nice looking car

Okay I'll do it...

The original Moke was was a horrendous beast! ANYTHING would be a HUGE improvement over it!

iank - 16/12/09 at 07:05 PM

I quite like the original moke, simple and light, though not a thing of beauty or practicality (in any country where it actually rains)

How is the MINI thing in anyway inspired by it? Nothing like the original - it has a roof and curved panels for goodness sake.

It will have doors when launched as otherwise very few people would buy it - just like the original UK moke. They only made any sense in Australia/Portugal etc.

Is this so estate agents can sell beach houses now.
