Name Needed
Trev D - 13/6/10 at 04:38 PM

Hi chaps and chapesses I've gone and done it I've handed in my notice at work. I think that most of you know what I do for a living. I've decided to set up my own company doing the same line of work. I am stuck for a name for my new venture. Any help would be much appreciated. The person that gives me the name that I use will get a couple of hours of my time FOC.

ATB

Trev
ps for those of you that don't know I hand build aluminium panels for sport racing cars i.e Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, etc etc.

Good luck in the new venture:

Shaped Panels
Race Panels
Trev D Bespoke Body Panels

If you are well known in the industry use your name because that's what people will remember when looking you up

TRAP Doors =

TRevor's Aluminium Panel Doors

Or it could stand for...

TRevors Aluminium Panels & Doors

(obviously depending upon if you will be doing doors and not just panels - if just panels then maybe just TRAP ?)

JoelP - 13/6/10 at 07:14 PM

you need two names. One proper name -

Trevor D***** Bespoke Auto Panels (yes, that is mediablokes idea, not mine, but its good )

And a catchy/modern/simpler name for your website, maybe Aspirational Aluminium or some such twaddle

Qualloy.
It gives the impression/suggestion that you supply quality alloy stuff. It doesn't actually mean anything but it sticks in your mind..........

FFTS - 13/6/10 at 10:15 PM

"The Aluminium Body WorX"

1. Describes your work place..
2. Describes what you do.
3. Describes what material you work in.
4. Says your product functions correctly.

It may seem quirky at first but it sticks in peoples minds and does what it says in the name.

In 2000 it took months to come up with a new skydiving company name.. went through all the boring predictable.. sky adventures, paraventure, lancashire skysports.. bla bla..

Then used the same formula as above and bingo... what do we do..

"Fall From The Sky"

Even if nobody new what business I was in then from the company name they knew straight away and the imnage sticks in the mind with the words attached.

www.fallfromthesky.com = FFTS = Me

Liam - 13/6/10 at 11:41 PM

Hmmm...

Body Craft

I know - you could have pictures of boobies and bums and stuff, but when you look closer it's actually your panels shot from funny angles. Dead clever aren't I.

iank - 14/6/10 at 06:54 AM

Both Alifab and Body Craft are already taken by very similar companies.

http://www.alifab.co.uk/
http://www.bodycraft.org.uk/

What about "Classic Handcrafted Aluminium Panels"
Forms the acronym "chap" which is easy to remember (and lends itself to 'that chap who makes car bodies" comments in the paddock of high end car meets)
Finally www.chapanels.co.uk seems to be free at the moment.

ETA: Good luck

55ant - 14/6/10 at 06:54 AM

ALIFAB would get my vote. then with the second name as stated earlier

Hmmmm.. Lets study that website name!

Chap Panels seems to have 2 P's so would www.chapanels.co.uk mean either

1. Cha Panels
or better still.
2.Chap ANALS hehe

www.chap-anals.com

Nice one Iank
