The Mini Marcos looks cap from a dead side on angle too, but I'd have one like a shot!

but I agree this kit would look better if it was more like a Rochdale Olympique. ..

madteg - 15/10/15 at 07:34 PM

I had a giggle as well

rusty nuts - 15/10/15 at 07:55 PM

Pity it's not a Unipower GT

Either the links posted above are taking me back a few decades, or taking you lot to a different place; but I cannot see a NEW kit anywhere ???

Agh yes I was missing the point too.

Yes, not to do anyone down for their endeavours, but definitely a case of "we can so we will" regardless of taste.
It does look a bit like one of the Chinese production copies of an e-type or suchlike
As said there are prettier 60s kit such as the olymipic ( my parents had one), but of course it would be a lot more work from scratch to reproduce

anthony1 - 16/10/15 at 07:38 AM

An 'interesting' shape and style......a bit of an acquired taste..........Unipower Gt now that would be more like it!!!

rdodger - 16/10/15 at 07:48 AM

WYF!?

Of all the old kits to revive they chose that!?

Adam - 16/10/15 at 07:54 AM

Not my cup of tea..... actually hurts my eyes to look at it but each to their own. Apparently they sell a lot of these to over sea customers. as a company they are making money out of them so fair play.

Had never heard of it 12 hours ago, right now i'd sell my child to have one - looks like a mini-Ford Mustang!!!

SCAR - 16/10/15 at 08:39 AM

I like retro and could see the point of restoring or building something like the Unipower GT or better still the delightful Piper GT but 20k on something Noddy would refuse to drive leaves me baffled.
I sometimes think exposure to too many polyester fumes must have a strange effect on kit manufacturers judgements

If its looks crap now it probably looked crap then, just because something is from days gone bye doesn't mean it has an excuse to be devoid of proportion and style

I want one of these

Perhaps I should be less critical, of the effort at least and wait to see a finished updated version (but surely not based on a far more desirable Mini)

try this https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Unipower+GT&es_sm=91&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0CCYQsARqFQoTCK_26MTcxsgCFcHbGgodYS 0PQw&biw=1222&bih=1187#imgrc=oPhsDuQKCZUgaM%3A

That Peel thing is an utter minger - no idea how anyone would think it was a good idea to buy one!

Staple balls - 16/10/15 at 10:26 AM

Oh god, it looks like a mustang and a 911 had a very "special" baby.

stig mills - 16/10/15 at 10:46 AM

The tools and jigs and moulds for the original Rocket are now on ebay.

SCAR - 16/10/15 at 11:21 AM

An absolute snatch your hand off opportunity for someone, if only I were 10 years younger.

ettore bugatti - 16/10/15 at 06:24 PM

I rather build an Ogle SX

http://www.nostalgiacars.co.uk/ogle_full_details.html

I think the Mini Marcos body can be bought new today as well.

How they think to pass the IVA with a Mini steering column is a mystery to me.

Shooter63 - 16/10/15 at 08:51 PM

Deep Sanderson , landar or mini jem would all have been sellers, that peel is just fugly

See the MEV Rocket ebay biding has started, £10,000 is a snip mind you one day still to go on the auction. Many MEV Owner Forum members were very disappointed when this product came off the market due to RTR's closure and have already invested in donor cars etc, so hopefully they will be able to purchase the kit in the near future and realise there dream.

MEVster is going up for sale Stuart! That'll be good news for some as well as I have read also on the MEV Owners Forum that some were deeply disappointed at not being able to acquire that marque of MEV.

Good luck

stig mills - 20/10/15 at 09:23 AM

Rocket tools still available, sold for £10k to the son of a mother who lost her phone, allegedly!
