I have the opportunity to buy one of my cars back (a Furore) which is currently in Germany. So far as I'm aware it was never marked for permanent
export on the V5, but is there any way I can actually confirm this without getting directly onto DVLA, which I don't want to do in case I open a
can of worms!
If I check MoT history with the reg no. (it's still displaying it's UK plates & has never been used on the road over there other than
when the owner drove it over & then left it with his brother), it's changed hands a couple of times over there, but, so far as I can
establish, just with receipts for payment being given for it as a track only car.
Even if it was marked for permanent export I can prove it's UK history as I still have a copy of the V5, so I believe it could then be re reg
over here as I can prove over 10 years old, so would just require an MoT & paperwork through DVLA, just a bit concerned after Brexit I might get
caught for some import duties etc then
If I apply for the V5 prior to it being shipped back over am I leaving myself open to anything, obviously as soon as I got a V5 for it, I would
declare SORN
I'd really like to get the car back & the price is more than fair, but don't want to shoot myself in the foot!
Is this the twin engined one?
Yes, indeed it is!
