Returning my Car to the road: Part 3
JAG - 19/5/26 at 11:46 AM

My car has been off-the-road for a few (ahem) years now!

Last Summer I did a bunch of work and I recently repaired the bodywork and now I've booked an MOT for Tuesday 26th May 2026

Wish me Luck

There are two other threads: Part 1 and Part 2

This is the most recent picture of the whole car...

Good Luck.
I had mine off the road for 9 years.
Managed to get everything sorted during the first lock down and back on the road the year after.
It's been great driving her again.

MOT happened Tuesday 26th May.

It failed on just one thing: no side mirror on the drivers side of the car.

A couple of advisories,

1) front number plate is loose but not at risk of falling off
2) brakes on rear axle dragging

Number plate is attached to the grill of the nosecone with cable ties. So it swings a little

Rear brakes are dragging - my fault as I adjusted the handbrake to be nice and short so

I had no side mirrors on the car simply because I didn't like the way they looked.

Anyway I got a pair of side mirrors (from GBS as they look 'OK' ) fitted them and got the car re-tested on Friday.

So it's all sorted, MOT is passed and I can tax the car today and be back on the road for the Summer

technically, as a Q plated car, the centre mirror should be enough if it gives a view behind.

but rather than argue, it's easy to add another mirror.
enjoy !
