Hi,
I can recommend Cancun or Cuba..

Both quite good value...

and you can get some good deals and TC and Thomson both fly...

Cheers

south africa. half the holiday on a game reserve and half in capetown

i can recomend the bacubung (not sure about spelling) game reserve: loads of big cats, rhino, elephants etc, all near enough to touch from the jeep. capetown beaches are beautiful and the cage diving to see great whites is the biggest adreline rush in the world

Yeah, we went to Dorset for a fortnight.

I said she could do whatever she liked so long as on one day we drove back to Brighton.

Tickets to mexico should be cheap at the moment after all of the drug war killings - so cancun sounds like a nice idea!

why not take a cruise? you get chance to visit lots of places, travel in luxury, eat amazing food, get fantastic service from the staff, & if you don,t like a place that you are visiting you know you,ll be going somewhere else the next day or 2.

Cruise,s really are good value, they are not all pompous & stuffy like in the "olden days",
Modern ships & they are so big some of them you don,t even feel the ship is moving.

I worked on cruise ships for 7 years & then when i came "ashore" & got married........went on a cruise for our honeymoon.

cheers
andy

We got married and had a honeymoon at the Hoteldorf Gruner Baum in Austria. Fantastic place, very friendly family run place and the owner is a classic car fanatic.

We went to the Dominican Republic for a week, which was long enough in the heat. Had a lovely week and would go back. Was a bargain too, all inclusive, £500 each

We've just come back from St Lucia and it was very nice, stayed at Sandals though so it should be. If you can strech to it go to the Maldives. It's the most peaceful place on earth, only trouble is once you have been everything else looks just ok. Going back there in a few weeks, it's great being married to a travel agent.

Do what my Dad did many years ago on his Honeymoon. Took mum to the Isle of Man for a relaxing week. He did forget to mention to her that it was the TT week at the time. Not impressed.

Me and the wife went to Kenya on Safari for a week which was excellent, had a guide to ourselves and staying in some fantastic places. We then went to the coast for a week, which we did not enjoy at all, crap weather and did not feel comfortable leaving the hotel grounds.

We did a tour of South west cananda last summer which is the best holiday I have every been on. Took in Seattle Banff Whisler and Vancouver.

If your talking December in Banff, snow and lots of it, starts to snow in October, lovely place to ski and tour. Will be cold.

Go east cheaper than the Caribbean; take a look at Sri Lanka is beautiful with luxury hotels and excellent value for money. Antigua I found very commercialised.

2nd vote for maldives. We managed 2 weeks for about 2.5k, it was a stupidly nice place.

Daddylonglegs - 25/3/10 at 08:33 AM

We went the the Netherland Antilles island of Curacao. Absolutely tip top

Not your regular red barrel and fish and chips (althought it is Dutch so plenty of them having a break - but no issues there).

Did the Dolphin swimming thing, a day seeing the Island by self-drive Quad, which was a real hoot

found a really cool (well quite warm actually) qiuet beach and visited that one several times to just chill and eat/drink

Whitby. For the money you're looking to spend you can stay all year so you may get a sunny day........

Had two weeks in South Goa last month, best beach holiday I've ever had, and I've had a few, B&B ownerd by a couple of Brits, fanstastic food, amazing beaches, great shopping (for the missus) and VERY cheap still. We had two weeks with flights, the B&B, endless fantastic local food with huge fresh prawns and fresh fish everyday, great cocktails, massages, yoga, great music, interesting guests to chat too, direct flights from Gatwick, all for under £2200. Prefered it to Sri Lanka, where we went for our honeymoon, better value for mmoney and MUCH better food.

Also recommend SE Asia too, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Indo, all fantastic

Remember most of the Caribbean work on the US$, which is rubbish for us at the moment.

Naaaaah - best place in the world is here...

Japamala Resort Tioman Island

Just off the coast of Malaysia. Get there from Singapore rather than KL so you can spend a few days there too. Wife and myself been back in blighty for a month now . Want to go baaaaack Very very special and unique place, and cheap considering its ranking among other such resorts - check out some reviews.
