Q? Model like pics?
coozer - 31/3/12 at 08:13 PM

I've seen some nice pictures that look like model?

Just been watching BGT and there was a image of Blackpool that looked like a little model..

If you know what I mean how do you do that? Do need a fancy camera or is it about photoshopping?

Ta,
Steve

Tiltshift, its a type of lens that allows you to tilt and shift the plane of focus, by having the plane of focus ofset to the plane of the recording material, there is only a small part of the image in focus the rest will be out of focus, this is what tricks the mind into thinking that you are looking at close range and looks like a small model etc.

If doing it in software, make sure that the picture you use to start with has plenty depth of field in it.

You need that distance front to back for your eye to believe it's looking a model.

An image with little or no depth in it doesn't work.

Ideally, like in the example above, you want an isolated image sitting in the middle with lots of image in front of and behind it.

Confused but excited. - 1/4/12 at 12:30 PM

Or look for 'Make a tiltshift' on Youtube. Really locost DIY job.
