Paypal giving money back? Scam?
Dingz - 3/3/15 at 08:25 PM

I have received an official looking Paypal email suggesting there has been suspicious activity on my account. They have asked for me to confirm my email address so they can reimburse me! It isn't very obvious what the return email address is but looks to be daviddav@investmarkfinancial.com. Anybody else had one of these?
It wasn't sent to the email address I use for Paypal anyway.

Scam.

Open up a new browser window and type in https://www.paypal.co.uk If it is genuine there will be a message there.

As above this type of scam is doing the rounds again, the PayPal fake email is particularly convincing and good enough to pass through most email screening..

Never trust ANY email... open browser and manually type in the website name that YOU KNOW is right.
NEVER use those links in emails..

Been getting a few from hmrc.
First clue is they never address you by name just some generic title.

Dear customet, taxpayer, citizen. Ffs who calls anyobody citizen in the uk

Next clue is actual mail address.
Third clue is poor english.

just bin them.

No. 1 rule. Nobody gives you something for nothing. Follow it and youll be fine.
