Think Floyd
nick205 - 25/11/16 at 12:53 PM

Hello all,

I've been a Pink Floyd fan for quite a while.

Just booked myself a ticket to go and see a tribute band Think Floyd in February 2017.

Anyone else seen them and are they any good?

Thanks,
Nick

I've seen them 3 times, never got to see Floyd but I'm a big fan, I thought they were very good, also saw the pink Floyd UK experience but I preferred think Floyd.

I think you will love it.

I saw them in Norwich about 4 years ago and they had about 8 people and loads of instruments and was a fantastic, I saw them again about 6 weeks ago in bury st Edmunds and there where only 4 of them and then the backing singer (who is stunning! ) comes out for her bits but the whole show there was smaller but never the less absolutely amazing very very good. I will certainly be seeing them again next time anywhere near me!

Seen the real thing twice,no idea how you better them.
think floyd have played down this end of the world to full houses and get rave reviews so you should enjoy it.

Saw them at Wembley stadium before they knocked I'd it down, drank beer before staggering into, fell asleep halfway through as they self indulged themselves in extended mixes in just about everything... Boring. Woke up, picked myself off the ground and wobbled off to the seated area while they finished up, then got the train back to Orpington, sat about for what seemed hours and hours Before the early trains started running arriving home in Tunbridge wells at 7 in the morning knackered.

Ozzy ozbourne @ folksone in some underground cliff venture was fantastic later that year

Not see think floyd but saw the Australian pink floyd band a while back and they were very good.

If floyd is your thing then you might want to check out Opeth's new album Sorceress. Their musical styles range from folk to death metal but their latest offering is very prog and one particular track is obviously influenced by "the lunatics are sitting on the grass".

P.S. Saw Opeth last weekend at wembley, epic, 2 1/2 hour set covering 25 years of music.

Think Floyd are one of the best cover bands, seen them before and seeing them in January. Brit Floyd are better than Aussie Floyd.
Going to Germany to see FloydBox next week.
But the best cover band are Echoes, a German group, and they are brilliant.

Saw them in Folkestone last year, being a Floyd fan for many years, first saw them in 1972, and having seen them several times since I went to see Think Floyd with reservations. Obviously the light show and special effects were not as elaborate as the real thing but musically they were excellent and the female backing was brilliant. I would certainly recommend them.

Sounds like it should be good then.

Thanks all

Were they not at the SILVERSTONE CLASSIC a couple of years back ? Whoever it was I thought they were pretty good - and I am a livelong fan of the real thing.

Small amount of trouble when I informed the wife I was going - why hadn't I bought her a ticket too?

Well...
1. It's me that's the PF fan
2. Sometimes it's important to do things on your own
3. We have 3 kids
4. I'll see if I can get another ticket!

Hey ho - life goes on I guess.

Just seen Floydbox in Germany: a really good night. Next is Think Floyd in January, should be good.
