PPC is no more

I got a notification today that my subscription payment had been cancelled, the website was down and then it was confirmed by them in a Facebook post that the current August issue is the last one. A great loss of a really good magazine.

Yes, sad news indeed.
It has been getting harder and harder to come by in the shops.
I’ll certainly miss reading it. Don’t think there’s anything else out there that I’d fancy moving to.

It would help many to use the full name not a TLA
So - I am guessing - Practical Perfomance Car magazine maybe???

Very true. Why buy a magazine when YouTube and Google have better info for free. I used to buy loads of car mags but they were mostly just full of reviews of cars I could never afford. Really I just look back at them being a huge waste of money. Same with the science mags I get, I'd know all about their contents already having watched it on YouTube which was usually the same day things were announced.

I would trend to agree, my first thought was Pre Payment Certificate for prescriptions. then it was Pay Per Click.

That's a shame.

At it's height I think it was really good and I had a subscription for a few years. The main problem I felt was their failure to complete projects that you were following.

Did they ever get the Megasquirt one done for example?

Sadly the price went up and the content went down. I hate all this on line stuff, liking a hard copy to pick up when I want. Mind you I am over 70 so still old school!!!

Haven't bought magazines for a long time now. Occaisionally bought one if going on holiday, but that was it.

PPC was one of the only ones I'd have a gander through in WH Smith. Even that I've not done for quite some time though.

Eldest son who's big into MTBs subscribes to MBUK magazine. I've flicked throuh a couple, but they're 75% adverts these days. And I suspect the articles are manufacturer led and funded too.

Acronym, initialisation VAT certainly winds me up!

When my kids outgrew kids size (no VAT) shoes and into adult size (with VAT) shoes that one irritated me. Not my kids fault for sure, but I remember cussing the government

Judging by some off the GARBAGE that appears "on-line" "in advertisements" and "in letters/mail", NOBODY, proofreads anything anymore.

Can't be doing with electronic/kindle format so I'm not sure what to read now.

I'll miss PPC a lot. Very grateful that I met my best friend over ten years ago as he was wearing a PPC tshirt and I went up to have a chat.

True enough, but many companies don't bother with it any longer on TV or vehicle sides.
