zetec engine no
lotusmadandy - 17/6/12 at 03:43 PM

Guys, can anyone help me out with a small
problem i have.

I have a 2.0 zetec with no engine number,that i need
to stamp with one.
Does anyone have a dead one that they dont mind
passing on the no's?
Alternatively how can i go about getting hold of one?
Apart from the scrapyard trawl.

Cheers all,

Andy

Stupid question but why can't you just make one up?

Can you do that? If so problem solved.

You only really need one if you are trying to get easy emmisions.

If you are installing a cat and injection and have very low emmisions, no problem,
leave it blank and it will be to the latest emmisions limits.

If you want a pre 1995 for the emissions, a valid old number will be required
and a letter from Ford or validation from other sources.

Just do not try and get an old number and put it on a Blacktop.....

The engine is going in an already sva'd/registered
Car. This to send away the v5 to change the details.

Is it by any chance the same engine type as it is replacing?

Why not just copy that engine number.

It is what the person who swapped it in the first place should have done....

No,its a 2.0 silvertop replacing a 1.6 pinto
in a mates car. The zetec has no number.
