DIY Gear Cables...

Anyone made their own as opposed to buying a 'kit'

The misses has banned me from spending any more 'major' money on the car for the time being until the decking and garden is done lol

Please let me know where I can get the components to convert my rod shift to cable push/pull

Thanks in advance

Olly

Assume this is rear engined - why not pay a visit to the scrappies and use a FWD setup

A scrapyard would seem to be the best bet, there are plenty of cars that use cables. Honda Civic (01-06), Hyundai Accent, MR2, MGF, Transit, Seat Ibia, VW Polo, Skoda Fabia to name a very few.

How about a divorce, or lack of submission?

Got my push pull cable from gb water sports in Peterborough £20. Any marine place will do as they are used on speed boats

Need to know how long and how much curve you need to put on it. Some car ones may not bend enough
Bought (custom made) cables are about £50-60

Measure up, ring DRD Racing http://www.drdracing.co.uk/ - and stump up £40

And finally dont tell the wife what your doing, my parcels cost either £10 for small items, maxing out to £100 for big boxes, never leave your garage keys lying about...
