Morning All,

Is there any way to identify the engine model/year of the engine in the car?

I was looking at getting a GiPro for the car so needed it for that however also just wanted to know for the future.

Pretty sure the engine mountings are different on the head, and throttle bodies are different.

Has yours got throttle bodies with a single butterfly?

As above, the obvious difference is on the engine mounting on the zorst side. The ecu connectors also changed between the A and B models. You can also use the engine number - there was a recent post about Kawasaki engine numbers.

I found the mounts and they seems to be roughly in line with the 2 outer exhaust ports as shown below

Also i can confirm the throttle body is singular

i couldnt locate the code?

I have also located the ECU and found the code ZX12 1200 (21175-1065, 112100-0470)

Pretty sure you have an A1 or A2 from that. The engine code is on the top of the gearbox on the horizontal surface.

Or thanks for this, i saw an earlier post in regards to the ZX12R having restrictions in the early gears.

did you buy a GI pro atre?

or are they worth buying?

For reference the guys confirmed from my ECU code that my engine is A1 a 2000 model
