What sealant should i use where the oil pickup tube enters the block?

none, its a press in fit

Mine doesn’t fit that tightly so I need to seal the gap to stop the oil pump sucking air.

You can swag the tube for a tighter fit and use locktight

I sleeved the join on mine, and soft-soldered it. Had to do some thorough cleaning before I started though.
