i know this is one of the Best engines you can get on the market for power / weight with cost in mind......But how do you fit it in and how do you get it to drive the back wheels has any one done this?

I agree they give great power but at the cost of a heavy iron motor.

A few Elise owners have swapped their K series for VAG/Audi 1.8T and although they are much quicker in a straight line the weight has knackered the handling due to the extra weight.

Yea they might be a bit on the heavy side. Its a cast iron blok, and the turbo does add weight. It's also an engine with a lot (!) of possibilities. You can keep it fairly simple at 150 bhp, or go for 265 with a better mapping and the TT-turbo. The engine has been in about 13 cars, each with slightly different parts. You can match parts of one engine to another one, all are interchangable. You can choose a mechanical throttle or if you want a drive by wire system. So many options. Even if 265 bhp isnt enough, with bigger injectors you can take it over 280bhp. Engines will hold about 360bhp without internal mods.
