That idea popped into my head today aswell. But how quickly could you start a turbine? I guess it wouldnt be as simple as turning a key.

The scooter engine I'm using weighs 32kg including the transmission and clutch. It makes 22 BHP. I guess that half that is the CV and clutch. A 10 litre fuel tank full, with pump is probably about 10kg. Motor's weight depends on RPM and duty cycle. You could think in the order of 0.5kg per BHP.
